The ground, was first owned by Stockport rugby club, who lent it out to Stockport County in 1902, where County have been for 103 years.

For matches, the allocation for opposition (away) supporters varies as follows:
- 800 for small away followings. This is two sections in the Popular Side.
- 2,300 for medium away followings. This is two sections in the Popular Side, and the whole of the Railway End.
- 3,500 for large away followings. This is the Popular Side & the Railway End.
The Cheadle End (Robinsons Brewery stand)

The Cheadle End, built in 1994 is the biggest stand in the ground.
It holds 5,000 people and is usually over three-quarters full every game.
There are no obstructed views in this stand and it has a great atmosphere which is good on matchdays. It is always loud there which is great because the County fans always get involved each game.
The Cheadle end currently has a number of flags in it at the top and in the middle, there is a giant scarf, which says 'The Scarf My Father Wore' for one half, the other says 'Stockport County'.
There is an England flag with Blue and White and SCFC on, 'Animo Et Fide' and 'County 4 life.com' Many more flags to come, most of these go to the away games, even i'm getting a flag for the supporters coach for next season, with a big 'Cheadlender.com in the middle, so watch out for that!

Stockport Express Stand (Hardcastle Road, Main Stand, Printerland Stand)

The Stockport Express stand is the Main stand at county.
It's about 60-70 years old which you can see from your first impression.
The view is alright but has a few poles so you do get a bit of an obstructed view.
This stand was burnt down in 1935 (23rd july) Re opened on 24th October 1936 but still wasnt fully buily. (was completed about November 1937)
Its capacity is around 2,500 and most of the people in here are older fans.
It is a quiet stand so they enjoy it.
The changing rooms are underneath this stand
There are also rumors of a Ghost in this stand these rumors started appearing in the 1980's.

The Vernon Stand (Popular Side)

The Vernon Stand is a mixed stand, most away fans are in here and a few hundred County fans who dont want to be in the Cheadle End, or those who prefer a side view.
This stand has a couple of poles so your view will be obstructed.
I asked an away fan what he thought, he said ''Its a good atmosphere because of the Stockport fans in the other half. Built on a good slope, and the view is decent''.
The Vernon Stand holds about 2000 fans and is a quite loud stand because there is another set of 'loyal supporters' in there.
Railway End (Shotton Paper stand, UPM Stand)

The Railway End always holds anyone these days, because of the massive support of County fans.
County fans have had loads of chances to go in this season, and the away fans have also had a few chances.
This stand is all seated but about 6 years ago you had to stand (as pictures show).
This stand has no roof so if its raining or anything, best bet is to be in the Vernon!.
This stand is supposed to become a a brand new 5,500 seater in about 2 years, so it will look like the Cheadle End but with a hotel under it.
This stand holds about 1,500.

Thoughts on the Game?
If i'm being honest I thought our defence yesteday was awful in the first half, which is suprising seeing as they're usually like a wall, wheras our strikers are bad, but the first half we did very well, even after Hunt got sent off. The second half however we couldn't do anything with the ten men.
What did you think of the view?
yeah, good view, cant complain

I enjoyed it because there were Stockport fans right near us, I like that. Like at Bristol Rovers...

It was a good size stand, not full, but most of the singing seemd to come from that end
